What is Spending?

Spending is a handy feature that automatically places your personal account transactions into categories, so you can get a detailed picture of where your money goes each month. You could even set up a budget against each category, challenging yourself to save more.

It's designed to make it as easy as possible for you to see where your hard earned cash goes each month, and now you can set your own Budgets to help make saving even easier.

Budget tracking, made simple

You could spend less and save more by setting yourself a monthly budget. This feature lets you add a budget to your Spending categories within our app, so you are in control of what you spend and where.

Your transactions will be automatically sorted into one of our twelve categories, giving you a clearer picture of how you spend your money.

We will fill your newsfeed with personalised insights. Helping you understand at a glance how you are doing against your budgets and where you’re spending the most.

 

Get started with Spending

Do you have our mobile app?

Follow these three steps to get setup

    Log in to our NatWest app

  2. 02

    Navigate to the Spending tab at the bottom of the home screen

  3. 03

    Complete the short on-screen instructions to successfully setup Spending

Congratulations, you will now be set up for Spending.

Get the app

Search for 'NatWest Mobile Banking' in your app store - where you normally download your apps.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the NatWest app, tap 'I'm already a customer'. Read and accept the Mobile Banking Terms then tap ‘Get Started’.
  2. Enter your Online Banking customer number. Don’t have these? Tap 'What's my customer number?'.
  3. Enter the characters from your Online Banking PIN and Password. Don't have these? Tap 'Forgotten secure details?'.
  4. Confirm your mobile number and enter the activation code we text to you. If your mobile number is wrong then log in to Online Banking to update it, then return to the app in 3 days to finish registering.
  5. Choose a passcode to log into the app. If your device has facial or fingerprint recognition, you can choose to log in with that later.
  6. If you need any help once in the app then just tap the 'Help' button on the bottom bar if you have any questions.
