NatWest Mobile app is available on selected smartphones, to personal current account customers with a debit card, Online Banking and UK mobile number.

With Pay Your Contacts you can send money to anyone who has the NatWest/RBS Mobile Banking app or a valid UK Visa debit card, credit card or prepaid card. There's a maximum daily payment of £250 a day. You must also have the available funds to send from your account (including any arranged overdraft facility). To pay someone using Pay Your Contacts you must be aged 16 or over. 

For Get Cash, limits apply to the service, including a maximum withdrawal limit of £250 per day. The amount requested must be within the daily withdrawal limit for your debit card and there is a maximum limit of 2 Get Cash withdrawals per day. You must also have at least £25 available funds to withdraw from your account (including any overdraft facility). Get Cash can be used at selected ATM's.

Our Student Account and the Arranged Overdraft are easy to understand so you don't have to worry.

You can apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £500 in the first term of your first year of study. After this you can then apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £2000.

An Arranged Overdraft is a limit agreed between yourself and NatWest that you can spend up to, on top of the money you have paid in to your account. 

For instance, if you paid £100 in to a brand new account and then had an Arranged Overdraft of £150, the total you could spend up to is £250.

It's simple - if your in your first term, you can apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £500.

After your first term, you can then apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £2000.

With our Student Account Arranged Overdraft, you can apply for up to £2,000. This does depend on whether you are in your first term in your first year, or not. 

  • If you are in the first term of your first year of study, you can apply for up to £500

  • If you are in any other term or year of study, you can apply for up to £2,000

Our Student Account Arranged Overdraft is interest-free. 

It is important if you have a Student Account that you try to never exceed your Arranged Overdraft limit. 

If you do exceed your Arranged Overdraft, there is a chance the Bank may reject your transaction. If this does happen there is a charge of £6 for each Unpaid Item (subject to a maximum of £60 in any charging period).

There are a number of ways you can look to change your Arranged Overdraft in the future.


Important information:

You must use your NatWest Student Account as your main current account by paying in at least £750 every 6 months and make at least 3 debit transactions every month. 

If you stop using your account as your main current account then the interest rate you pay on your Arranged Overdraft reverts to the standard rate which applies to the Select Account. Arranged Overdrafts are repayable on demand. Over 18s only.
