If you’re claiming for something that has been stolen, you should always report the incident to the police before doing anything else.

What to expect when you call:

Ideally have your Private  Insurance Policy reference number ready, but don't worry if you can't find it. It just makes the process a little quicker.

We'll take time to understand the detail of your claim.The more details you can give us during your first call, the quicker we can process your claim.

We may ask to see some documents, like photos, quotes, invoices or receipts. We'll let you know what we need and how you can send them to us. 

Next steps

 Your dedicated Claims Hander will manage the entire process, liasing with 3rd parties if necessary.

 If we asked you for documents, we may be able to validate your claim based on the information you've sent us. We'll settle your claim via a repair, replacement item(s) or a cash payment.

 If we need specialist support, we will arrange for that to be done as quickly as possible.


 We will provide you with updates on your claim's progress whenever you need them.

✔ If a third party is liable for your damage or loss, we will look to recover costs of the claim from the other side, including any excess you may have paid.
