Paying someone new

What you'll need

 

The NatWest app already installed on your device

The account number and sort code of the person your are looking to pay

Your step-by-step guide:

    Open your NatWest app, tap on the account you want to make a payment from, select 'Payments' and then 'Make a payment'.

  2. 02

    Tap ‘Select payee’ on Apple devices or ‘Choose payee’ on Android devices and then tap 'Pay someone new' and put in the name and account details of the person you want to pay.

  3. 03

    Choose the amount you wish to send, add a reference for the payment and the choose the date you want to send the money on, now or in the future.

    Tap on ‘Make payment’ for Apple devices and ‘Next’ on Android devices.

  4. 04

    For added security you may be asked to authorise this payment. If this happens you will see the ‘Authentication required’ screen. Just tap ‘Next’.

    Then re-enter your mobile app’s log in details, to re-confirm it’s you.

  5. 05

    Check the details on screen are correct then tap ‘Make payment’ on Apple devices and ‘Next’ on Android devices, then tap ‘Make payment’ again.

  6. 06

    That’s your payment complete! You can save or send a PDF copy of the payment once it's sent, if you want to keep a record of it.

What you'll need

 

To be registered for Online Banking

Your debit card and card-reader

The account number and sort code of the person your are looking to pay

Your step-by-step guide:

    Login to Online Banking

  2. 02

    Select 'Payments and transfers' from the left hand menu

  3. 03

    Select which account you want to make the payment from

  4. 04

    Click on ‘Pay someone new’

  5. 05

    Type in the name of the person or company (Up to 18 characters. Acceptable special characters are '/', '&' and '-'.)

  6. 06

    Type in their bank account number and sort code

  7. 07

    Type in a reference - this should be something to help identify you to the payee (Up to 18 characters. Acceptable special characters are '/', '&' and '-'.) Click next

  8. 08

    Enter the amount you wish to pay

  9. 09

    Select ‘Pay now’ or ‘Choose a date’ if you want to schedule this payment to leave on a future date

  10. 10

    Click next

    You can review the details entered, if correct you will now need your debit card and card-reader - follow the on screen instructions

  12. 12

    All done, you will see confirmation of the payment and the option to print this transaction

    When you call us on 03457 888 444 (International +44 8705 888 444), you will hear an automated menu where you can make a selection based on what you want to do

  2. 02

    Press 1 – this is the area for transactions and payments including moving money around your own accounts

  3. 03

    Follow the steps that you hear on the phone

  4. 04

    Move your money around as you wish

    Head into a branch and bring your NatWest card. We’ll ask you to tap in your PIN to confirm your identity

    Speak to one of our team about making a one-off payment

  3. 3

    Let them know how much you want to send, who you are sending it to, and when you want the payment to be made

  4. 4

    You're done
