Transfer money between your accounts

Quickly send money between your own accounts using the mobile app.

Making a transfer

Transfering between your accounts is easy:


1. Simply log in and select the account you wish to make the transfer from.

2. Select 'Make a transfer'

3. Choose what account you want to make the transfer to

4. Enter the amount you wish to transfer

5. Select to 'send now' or 'send later'

6. Click 'Make transfer' on iPhone or 'Next' on Android - You will then be shown a confirmation screen




Pay someone new up to £500 without a card reader

Need to pay a friend or the plumber? Make payments of up to £500 securely, with just an account number and sort code.

To pay someone new:

  • Choose your current account then tap ‘Payments’
  • On the next screen, choose ‘Select payee’
  • Then ‘Pay someone new’ (at the top of the screen)
  • Enter the payee name, account details
  • Choose a reference and confirm your payment

Payments under £500 can be saved on the app and will also show in your Online Banking for future use - When making the first payment in Online Banking for over £500 a card-reader will be required. You must be aged 16 or over and there is a maximum of 5 payments totalling £500 per day.

Send and receive money with your mobile number

Paym is a service available to most of the UK’s leading banks and building societies that allows you to send and receive  money using just a mobile number. We call this service Pay your Contacts

To use Pay your Contacts:

  • Choose your account and tap ‘Pay your Contacts’
  • Type a mobile number or select a person from your list of saved contacts
  • Choose a reference and confirm your payment
  • The payment will be sent instantly  

Note: If you receive a 'payment unsuccessful' message then the recipient will need to register for Paym.

You must be aged 16 or over and can pay a maximum of £250 per day.

Register for Paym on Android:

  • Open the app and tap 'More menu' at the top left of the screen.
  • Then tap 'Payment Services' and 'Register for Paym'
  • Select the account in which you wish to receive payments
  • Enter the verification code we send to your mobile

Register for Paym on iPhone:

  • Open the app and tap the 'profile picture' in the top right of the screen.
  • Then tap 'Settings' then 'payment services' then 'Register for Paym'
  • Select the account in which you wish to receive payments
  • Enter the verification code we send to your mobile

Paym is available on most personal accounts.

Forgot to pay the water bill? You can do it straight from your banking app

Our app contains a list of the most popular and frequently used utility, local authority and credit card companies.

Now you don't need to enter the company's account details, just type the name and we will pre-populate this information for you. You just need your reference number to hand.

How to pay a bill:

  • Open the app and tap 'Payments'
  • Tap 'Pay someone new' at the top of the screen
  • Type the name of the company you wish to pay and select the correct option from our list
  • Add a reference and the amount
  • Once confirmed payments are normally received within 2 hours

It's just a few taps to pay someone from your list of saved payees

If you have paid a person via Online Banking with your card reader their details will be saved in your banking app for quick access the next time you want to make a payment.

Just select 'Payments' and scroll through the names to select the correct person, type the amount and click send. The money will leave your account instantly.


Once the payment is made you have the option to share a PDF payment confirmation via email, save to your Cloud/Phone or print directly from the app.

Withdraw cash without a card

Forgotten your debit card? No problem - you can still take cash out with our app.

You can use a maximum of two codes to withdraw up to £130 every 24 hours. Each code lasts 3 hours but only one is valid at a time. If the code expires, the money requested will go back into your account within 24 hours.

How to use Get Cash:

  • Open the app and tap ‘Get Cash’
  • Select how much you’d like to withdraw (up to £130)
  • Click ‘Next’ and we’ll give you a secure code to enter at any NatWest or Tesco cash machine

You must have at least £10 available funds to withdraw and an active debit card for your account.

For security reasons, the first time you use a feature that allows money to leave your account with the mobile app, you will be asked to confirm a second activation code.

No need to stand in a branch queue to cancel your Direct Debit

Set up, amend and cancel your standing orders and Direct Debits using your banking app. 

Open up the mobile app to set up standing orders to saved payees, companies or between your own accounts. You can view the status of your regular payments, check the details, keep an eye on the next payment date and cancel future payments.


  • To amend or cancel a standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days notice
  • To cancel a Direct Debit from within the mobile app you have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due. At or after 8.20pm (UK time), the payment due on that day will have been taken and we will not be able to retrieve it

Set up or cancel a standing order

No need to visit a branch to set up your standing orders, it's just a few steps on your app.

If you’d like to see the standing orders you’ve got set up, choose the account they come out of and press ‘Standing Orders’. You’ll see them all listed. Then, if you’d like to cancel one, click on it and tap the ‘Cancel’ button at the bottom. To set a new one up, press the ‘create’ button.

To cancel a standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days’ notice. 


Set up payments or transfers to leave on a future date

Need to make a payment next week, next month but worried you will forget to send it? Set it up now to leave on a specific date in the future.

Setting up a payment or transfer to leave on a specific future date is easy and can be done through the mobile app. Simply follow these steps:


  • Select the account you want the money to leave from
  • Select the account you want to transfer your money to or enter the payment details of the person you wish to pay
  • Select 'Send later' and enter the date you would like the transfer or payment to be made
  • Touch 'Schedule payment' and that's the payment or transfer set up and good to go

Note that payments and transfer can not be scheduled to leave more than 120 days in the future.
