Send international payments with your mobile app

Great news! You can now use your mobile app to send international payments to payees that you have previously set up within Online Banking.

Always on the move and short of time? Our app makes international payments quick and simple - with just a few taps you can select the payee, delivery speed and fee structure.

Handy ways to pay and receive money

Transfer money between your accounts

Quickly send money between your own accounts using the mobile app.

Making a transfer

Transfering between your accounts is easy:


1. Simply log in and select the account you wish to make the transfer from.

2. Select 'Make a transfer'

3. Choose what account you want to make the transfer too

4. Enter the amount you wish to transfer

5. Select to 'send now' or 'send later'

6. Click 'Make transfer' on iPhone or 'Next' on Android - You will then be shown a confirmation screen




Make payments up to £250 instantly without a card reader

Need to pay a friend or the plumber? Make payments of up to £250 securely, with just an account number and sort code.

To pay someone new:

  • Choose your current account then tap ‘Payments’
  • On the next screen, choose ‘Select payee’
  • Then ‘Pay someone new’ (at the top of the screen)
  • Enter the payee name, account details
  • Choose a reference and confirm your payment

You must be aged 16 or over and there is a maximum of 5 payments totalling £250 per day.

Don't have someone's bank details? Send money using their mobile number

Split a taxi or go halves on dinner, with Pay Your Contacts you don't to need to swap bank details.

You can pay friends and family using just their mobile number (as long as they have our mobile app or are registered for Paym). It’s quick and easy, and they’ll get the money instantly.

To Pay Your Contacts:

  • Choose your account and tap ‘Pay Your Contacts’
  • Type the mobile number or select a person from your list of saved contacts
  • Choose a reference and confirm your payment
  • The payment will be sent instantly  

You must be aged 16 or over and can pay a maximum of £250 per day.

For security reasons, the first time you use a feature that allows money to leave your account with the mobile app, you will be asked to confirm a second activation code.

Customers of other banks can send you money using Paym

Paym is a service available to most of the UK’s leading banks and building societies that allows people to send you money using just your mobile number.

Receive payments simply using your mobile number - you no longer need to know your account details for someone to send you money. Paym is available on most personal accounts.

How to register for Paym:

  • Open the app and tap 'More'
  • Then tap 'Payment Services' and 'Register for Paym'
  • Select the account in which you wish to receive payments
  • Enter the verification code we send to your mobile

Forgot to pay the water bill? You can do it straight from your banking app

Our app contains a list of the most popular and frequently used utility, local authority and credit card companies.

Now you don't need to enter the company's account details, just type the name and we will pre-populate this information for you. You just need your reference number to hand.

How to pay a bill:

  • Open the app and tap 'Payments'
  • Tap 'Pay someone new' at the top of the screen
  • Type the name of the company you wish to pay and select the correct option from our list
  • Add a reference and the amount
  • Once confirmed payments are normally received within 2 hours

You must be aged over 16. Limits apply.

It's just a few taps to pay someone from your list of saved payees

If you have paid a person via Online Banking with your card reader their details will be saved in your banking app for quick access the next time you want to make a payment.

Just select 'Payments' and scroll through the names to select the correct person, type the amount and click send. The money will leave your account instantly.


Once the payment is made you have the option to share a PDF payment confirmation via email, save to your Cloud/Phone or print directly from the app.

Withdraw cash without a card

Forgotten your debit card? No problem - you can still take cash out with our app.

You can use a maximum of two codes to withdraw up to £130 every 24 hours. Each code lasts 3 hours but only one is valid at a time. If the code expires, the money requested will go back into your account within 24 hours.

How to use Get Cash:

  • Open the app and tap ‘Get Cash’
  • Select how much you’d like to withdraw (up to £130).
  • Click ‘Next’ and we’ll give you a secure code to enter at any NatWest or Tesco cash machine

You must have at least £10 available funds to withdraw and an active debit card for your account.

No need to stand in a branch queue to cancel your Direct Debit

Set up, amend and cancel your standing orders and Direct Debits using your banking app. 

Open up the mobile app to set up standing orders to saved payees, companies or between your own accounts. You can view the status of your regular payments, check the details, keep an eye on the next payment date and cancel future payments.


  • To amend or cancel a standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days notice
  • To cancel a Direct Debit from within the mobile app you have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due. At or after 8.20pm (UK time), the payment due on that day will have been taken and we will not be able to retrieve it
