Accounts with Other Banks is available to those who use our app. You need to be registered with your other bank for their online banking. This service allows you to view your current account balances and transactions with your other bank. You can’t make payments or transfers via our app. App available to customers with Online Banking and a UK or international mobile number in specific countries.


How to set it up

See your money differently

These days, there's nothing unusual about having current accounts at a number of banks. Although, until recently, keeping an eye on them all has been a bit of a chore. But now you can see your money differently by using a new feature on our app called "Accounts with other banks."

"Accounts with other banks"

This feature of our app lets you see the current accounts you have at a number of different UK banks. So if what you do at the moment is to check your balances and transactions on a number of different banking apps - all with their own logins - then this is going to make life a lot easier for you.

Open Banking in action

The reason we're able to offer you our "Accounts with other banks" in-app feature is because of Open Banking. This allows banks to share your information so that you can get a better overview of your finances. Right now, it only applies to current accounts. But later it'll include other types of accounts as well.

We need your permission

Your wishes are all-important. Banks can't share any information unless you say it's OK to do so. And once you have, it's very easy to change your mind. In fact, every 90 days we'll ask you to confirm if it's still OK for us to continue sharing your data. We take nothing for granted.

High security

Our new "Accounts with other banks" feature appears on our app, and that's already bristling with the latest security measures. There's Touch ID, Android Fingerprint ID, Face ID and a six-digit passcode to choose from. And none of your data will be stored on your phone. When you log out, it's gone. Touch ID and Face ID available on selected Apple devices. Android Fingerprint ID available on selected Android devices.

Ready when you are

It's quick and easy to set up. Log on to our app. Then tap "Add an account from another bank" and instructions will appear. When you've followed those, your balances and account data should pop up within two minutes, possibly less if you log out and in again. Transactions could take up to three hours to appear. It depends how many there are altogether. But updating them the next time will be much quicker.

To remove accounts

Log on to our app. in the top right, there's an icon. Tap that, and "Accounts with other banks" will appear as an option in a list. This takes you to all the accounts you created. You can then remove any or all of them instantly. It's so simple.

Switching your accounts

Switching your current account with NatWest is backed by the industry-wide Current Account Switching Service guarantee.

Switching is where we move everything across from your old bank account to your new NatWest current account, including your balance, bill payments, etc, within 7 working days.
