Letting us know when you're going abroad

In a nutshell

When you’re going away, it’s best to let us know first. Then when you’re using your NatWest card, it’ll be less likely that it will be blocked if we suspect fraudulent activity.

    Select “help” which is on the bottom bar

    Opt for 'Going Abroad'

  4. 04

    Follow the instructions on the page to enter the details of your trip. You’ll need to know where you’re going, and how long for

    Log in to the app

  2. 02

    Choose the credit card you want to apply it to

  3. 03

    Select “Manage your card” from that card

  4. 04

    Opt for “Going abroad”

  5. 05

    Follow the instructions on the page to enter the details of your trip. You’ll need to know where you’re going, and how long for

    Repeat for each other credit card

Access to your Online Banking

Details of how long you're going away for, your destination country

If you are signed up for Online Banking, you can log in and register the details of your trip by completing the online form.

It only takes a few minutes.

  1. 01

    Select 'Cards' from the left-hand menu

  2. 02

    Register your travel plans in the 'Using your cards abroad' section

  3. 03

    For debit cards select 'Manage your travel plans for your debit card' and for credit cards select 'Manage your travel plans for your credit card'

Your Online/Telephone banking pin and password

Your full credit/debit card number

    Call us on 03457 888 444 (International +44 8705 888 444)

  2. 02

    When you hear the menu, press 4 to go through to one of our UK-based customer advisers

  3. 03

    You’ll be put through to an advisor

  4. 04

    Tell the advisor that you’re going abroad and they’ll ask you some small questions

    You’ll be put through to an advisor

Your NatWest card

Here's how

Visit your local branch and we’ll ask you to confirm your identity by popping your debit card into a card machine and asking you to tap in your PIN.

Then simply let us know where you will be travelling to and for how long.

Note: In branch we can only assist you with your debit card If you have a credit card then you should use Mobile or Online Banking.
