Getting Emergency Cash
In a nutshell
When your debit card has been lost or stolen, our Emergency Cash service makes sure you don't have to go without cash in your pocket. We'll give you a code to type in to a NatWest or Royal Bank cash machine, which will let you take money out of your account.
- If you're a online or telephone banking customer, you can make one withdrawal of up to £300
- If you're not registered for these services, you can still get £60 to tide you over
Please note: You can only use our Emergency Cash service when you call up to cancel your card. If you use the mobile app you will no longer be able to use Get Cash until you have a replacement debit card.
You have to cancel your card via the lost/stolen service. Withdraw up to £130 every 24 hours at any NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland (in Scotland) or Tesco ATM, as long as it’s within your daily withdrawal limit. You must have at least £10 available in your account.
App available to customers with Online Banking and a UK or international mobile number in specific countries.

When cancelling your card, let us know you'd like access to 'Emergency Cash'
We will ask you some security questions to make sure it's you
Tell us how much you want (up to £300 if you're an Online Banking customer)
We'll give you a code to use at a NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland cash machine
When you've found an ATM, press 'enter' and then follow the instructions on the screen to take your cash out
