Buying your first home

Helpful tools to get you started

Buying your first-ever property is exciting. And perhaps a little daunting too. Why not start by comparing our mortgage rates and finding out how much we could lend you?

How much could you borrow?

We only need your income, outgoings, deposit and cost of the homes you're looking at. We'll show you an indicative amount so you can see if it's affordable.

Take a look at all our first-time buyer mortgage rates. These include 5% deposit and cashback mortgages. You’ll also see what your monthly repayment will be for each.

Offers for first time buyers

Need a helping hand to get on the property ladder? You could apply for a 95% or cashback mortgage.

95% mortgages

Borrow up to 95% of the value of the home you want to buy

A 95% mortgage allows you to borrow up to 95% of the total cost of your property.

You'll need a deposit of at least 5%, but less than 10%. The property you're buying needs to be worth less than £600,000.

Cashback mortgages

It pays to get a cashback mortgage with us

We’ll give your solicitor £250 cashback on the day you drawdown your mortgage and they'll pass it on.

This offer is only available on selected mortgages and can be changed or withdrawn at any point. Early repayment charges may apply. Max loan to value of 85%.

Help to Buy: ISA
