Why NatWest Invest

An investment through NatWest Invest has the potential to grow over the long term.

Experts decide the best places to invest your money. They invest in a low cost way and make sure your investment stays at a risk level you are comfortable with.

The funds can invest in a mix of assets including company shares and bonds (loans to governments or companies) and in different parts of the world. This can help reduce risk as it means your money relies less on one company, country or type of asset.

What's your investment personality?

We believe investment should be simple. So we’d like to introduce you to five ready-made, online investment funds that get you started from just £50. Just like you, each has its own characteristics. So if one of them sounds familiar, it might be the investment that will suit you best.

Our five investment personalities

Cautious & careful

Cautious and careful

This is Personal Portfolio 1 Fund (PPF1 for short). It’s the lowest-risk fund we offer. The equivalent of making a group booking at an Italian restaurant — because most people like Italian food, right?

Steady & sound

Steady and sound

Personal Portfolio 2 Fund (we call it PPF2), takes a step up the risk ladder, but a relatively small step. It’s like taking a different route to work. Might be easier, might be harder, but overall, it’s not a huge risk.

Bold & Balanced

Bold and balanced

Personal Portfolio 3 Fund (PPF3 is easier) increases the focus on higher-risk investments. It’s like someone considering a new hobby, like indoor climbing, but not until they’ve got all the safety gear.

Optimistic & assured

Optimistic and assured

If Personal Portfolio 4 Fund (aka PPF4) was a person, they’d have taken their training wheels off early. Sure, they’d have some extra bruises, but they’d also have got faster results.

Daring & determined

Daring and determined

Personal Portfolio 5 Fund (just call it PPF5) is the adventurer of the group. This is the one who’d be off diving with sharks while the rest of us sunbathed on deck.

Stocks and shares ISA

You can choose to hold your Personal Portfolio Fund in an ISA or a General Investment Account.

Holding it in an ISA means you don’t need to pay UK income tax on any income produced by your fund. It means you don’t need to pay Capital Gains Tax on any increase in the value of your fund.

You can invest up to £20,000 in an ISA in the 2019/20 tax year.

Tax reliefs referred to are those applying under current legislation, which may change. The availability and value of any tax reliefs will depend on your individual circumstances.

General Investment Account

There is no limit on the amount you can invest in the NatWest Invest General Investment Account but income tax and Capital Gains Tax are potentially payable.
