How our Switch Service works

Switching bank accounts from one UK bank or building society to another is simple with our Current Account Switch Service. It takes just 7 working days.

On your switch date:

Your payments, such as Direct Debits, Standing Orders and Bill Payments, will all transfer to your new account.

Any money from your old account will have been transferred (for example, your salary).

Your new account will be ready to use.

Your old account will be closed. Don’t worry if any payments are made to your old account after your switch date, they’ll be automatically redirected or forwarded to your new account. 

If anything goes wrong with the switch, we will refund any interest (paid or lost) and charges made on either your old or new current accounts as a result of this.
