A bank account for those living outside the UK but within the EU
Do you live in the EU, but outside the UK?
You could still be able to open a bank account with us. Start by having a look at the account we offer and decide if it is suitable for you.
To apply for our Foundation account you must be 18+ and an EU resident (living outside the UK).
Please be aware that as a result of ensuring compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations and our reliance on International Post this process can take 6 weeks to complete and as part of your application, you may be required to provide additional information and/or a signed declaration. As we'll no longer be able to open any new accounts to customers in the EU after 31 December 2020 (currently only Foundation accounts are available to our EU customers), if we don't have all required documentation in time to enable us to process the opening of your account before then, we won't be able to open an account for you. We'll contact you to advise you if this happens.
Please also be aware that, at a point in the foreseeable future, we may have to withdraw certain products and services from our customers in the EU. We’re closely monitoring the situation and we’ll let you know of any changes.
Any payment or withdrawal made from your account which is not in sterling (including any cash withdrawal at an ATM) will incur charges.
