Whether you're transferring a balance or making a purchase, you might pay a low interest rate of 9.9% p.a. (variable) on purchases and 6.9% p.a. (variable) on balance transfers.

What is a balance transfer?

A balance transfer is when you move a credit card balance from one credit card provider to another. This type of offer could help reduce your monthly credit card payments and/or clear your debt quicker.

How it works

If your application is successful, we'll contact your existing card issuers. We'll then transfer across what you owe on your old card onto The NatWest Credit Card. 

You can transfer any amount, up to 95% of your available credit limit. The minimum balance transfer amount is £100. Please note, you cannot transfer a balance from another Royal Bank of Scotland Group credit card.

You can set up an Instalment Plan directly in the mobile app to repay eligible credit card purchases between £300 and £3000 inclusive. To see if you have any eligible purchases, just take a look at your transaction list.

An Instalment Plan lets you:

• Repay an eligible purchase over a set period which suits you best. This can be between 6 to 24 months.
• Pay a set fee each month instead of interest, which could be cheaper than your standard credit card interest rate.
• Budget for how much you’ll pay each month with no hidden costs.

What you should know

• Instalment Plans can be set up only through our mobile app, and only if you are eligible for this offer.
• You can have up to four Instalment Plans at one time. You’ll be able to set up one Instalment Plan on each working day.
• You can set up, track and manage your plan in the mobile app.
• The monthly amount and the fee for the plan will vary dependant on the purchase amount and term of the plan.
• You will not pay interest on any balance that is on a plan but you will pay a set monthly fee over the selected term. You will pay the same amount each month for the duration of the plan.
• An Instalment Plan is part of your existing credit limit and it does not free up additional funds when a purchase is moved to an Instalment Plan.
• Your transaction needs to be either on your latest statement or applied to your account since your last statement was produced.

Apple Pay is available on selected Apple devices.

Like most UK credit cards, our range of cards offer 56 days interest free credit on purchases if you pay your balance (and your previous month's balance) in full and on time each month. That means if you want to make a big purchase, for example plane tickets or a new sofa, a credit card could be a good way to help you buy now and spread the cost. 

Late paying

If you’re late paying, we’ll charge you a fee of £12. That’s why setting up a Direct Debit makes sense – you’ll never be late paying again. We get that little mistakes are easy to make, so if you miss your payment due date by just one day, we won't charge you the late payment fee.

Over your limit

If you go over your limit we’ll charge you a fee of £12. If you only go over your limit by £12 or less, we won’t charge you. A good way to avoid going over your limit is to log onto NatWest Online Banking or fire up our mobile app and check you balance before you make your next card purchase.

There are several ways you can pay your credit card. The most common is setting up a Direct Debit. Once you’ve set it up, the payment will be taken automatically each month. You can choose to pay the minimum amount, a fixed amount or your full credit balance every month.

You can also make a payment in the mobile app or online banking.

What you should know

If you set up a Direct Debit for the minimum or fixed amount, the payment is claimed 25 calendar days from the statement date, or shortly afterwards. If you set up a Direct Debit for the full credit card balance, the payment is claimed 15 calendar days from the statement date, or shortly afterwards.
