Payment limits

What are payment limits?

In order to keep you safe and secure, we apply a maximum limit to the amount and frequency of payments that you can make per day to provide an extra layer of protection against fraud.

Paying someone new

Paying someone new refers to paying an individual or company who you have not added to your list of saved payees. This method also allows you to make the payment without the use of a card reader.

  • Daily payment limit: £750
  • Payment frequency: Maximum of 5 payments per day and cannot exceed £750 total
  • Daily limit applies from: 12am – 12am daily

The limit for personal customers is per person not per account (so if you have a joint account you can both make payments up to the limit). You must have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). Payments made on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday will form part of the next working day's allowance.
