Great news - based on your feedback, we've extended our service so you can enjoy the benefits of the mobile banking app across multiple devices.

E.g. you can now use the app on both your iPhone and Android tablet or Windows Phone and iPad, etc.

Previously you could only use the app on multiple devices if they were on the same platform (e.g. iPhone and iPad)

Seven ways our mobile app makes your banking simpler

A quick and convenient log in

Login to your app securely using the fingerprint registered with Touch ID or Android Fingerprint, or alternatively set up a passcode of your choice.

Touch ID is available on selected Apple devices. Simply login once you’ve updated the app and go to the ‘More Menu’ to enable this option.

Track your spending with just a glance

Busy commute? Check your balance and recent transactions any time, any place

With our app you can view the balance on all accounts you hold with us, as well as view transactions as far back as seven years ago. Tap on a particular transaction to find out more details.

Withdraw money even if you have left your card at home

You can withdraw money at any NatWest, Royal Bank (in Scotland) or Tesco cashpoint thanks to Get Cash.

With Get Cash you can quickly choose an amount of cash that you would like to withdraw from within the app. We will then provide you with a secure cash code that will be valid for 3 hours. You can use this cash code yourself or text it to someone else. You can use this service up to twice a day, but can only have one cash code at any one time. If the code expires, the funds will re-credit your account within 24 hours.

 

To use this service;

 

  • Maximum withdrawal limit of £130 every 24 hours. This must be within your daily withdrawal limit.
  • You must have at least £10 available funds to withdraw from your account (including any overdraft facility).
  • You must have an active debit card for your account.

 

For security reasons, the first time you use a feature that allows money to leave your account with the mobile app, you will be asked to confirm a second activation code.

 

Simply follow the on screen instructions to have an activation code text to you. This code will go to the mobile number we hold for you on our records.

 

 
 

Make payments up to £250 instantly without a card reader

Need to pay a friend or the plumber? Make payments securely with just an account number and sort code.

You can find 'Pay Someone New' at the top of your Payees List when making selecting to make a 'Payment' from your account. Once the payment is made you have the option to share a PDF payment confirmation via email, save to your Cloud/Phone or print directly from the app.

 

  • The payment details will not be saved.
  • You must be aged over 16 and have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility).
  • Maximum of 5 payments totaling £250 per working day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits.

No need to stand in a branch queue to cancel your Direct Debit

Set up, amend and cancel your standing orders and Direct Debits using your banking app. 

Open up the mobile app to set up standing orders to saved payees, companies or between your own accounts. You can view the status of your regular payments, check the details, keep an eye on the next payment date and cancel future payments.

 

  • To amend or cancel a standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days notice.
  • To cancel a Direct Debit from within the mobile app you have up; until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due. At or after 8.20pm (UK time), the payment due on that day will have been taken and we will not be able to retrieve it.

Don't have someone's bank details?  Send money using their mobile number

Split a taxi or go halves on dinner, with Pay Your Contacts you don't to need to swap bank details.

Choose a person from your Contact List or type a new number. You can pay anyone with a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster, NatWest Offshore or Isle of Man mobile app, or registered for Paym. The person will receive the money instantly.

 

Once the payment is made you have the option to share a PDF payment confirmation via email, save to your Cloud/Phone or print directly from the app.

 

Important information

  • There is a maximum payment of £250 a day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits.

Apply for new accounts with your banking app

To apply for an account through your app, log in and select the 'Products' options from the menu. 

You can begin applications for:

 

  • A personal loan
  • A new credit card
  • A new savings account
  • A new overdraft, or make a change to your existing limit.

 

Important Information

To apply for a loan, you need to be 18 or over and an existing NatWest current account customer.

To apply for a credit card you must be aged 18 or over and a UK resident. Other eligibility criteria may apply.

To apply for a savings account you must be aged 16 or over and a UK resident.

To apply for an overdraft you must be aged 18 or over, a UK resident and have an eligible current account.
