Step by step guide Pay a bill

Mobile step by step

(You will need to have set up the bill payment in Online Banking before you can make a payment using the mobile app)

  • Login to the mobile app
  • Choose ‘payment and transfers’
  • Choose the account you want to make the payment from
  • Choose ‘person or bill’
  • Scroll right until you find the company you want to pay
  • Enter the amount you want to pay
  • Click on ‘Done’
  • Click on ‘Pay’
  • Process shown is for the iPhone. For Android, Blackberry and Windows devices, steps may vary slightly
  • Don’t have the mobile app? Text me the app

Online step by step

  • Login to Online Banking
  • Choose ‘payments and transfers’ from the left hand menu
  • Choose ‘Make a payment or transfer’
  • Select the account you want to make the payment from the drop down menu
  • Choose the payee you want to make the payment to, or add a new payee using a card reader (you can order a card reader in the ‘Cards’ section)
  • Enter the amount you want to pay and the date you want the payment to be made, and click on ‘Next’
  • Click on ‘Confirm’ to complete the payment

Telephone step by step

  • Call 08457 888 444 (Minicom 0800 404 6161) Please have your Customer Number and NatWest Telephone Banking PIN to hand (Calls may be recorded)
  • Press 1 on the automated menu, then press 2
  • Press 2 to pay a credit card bill, or 3 for another type of payment
  • Follow the prompts to complete the payment

In branch step by step

  • Take your cheque or cash to the counter or pay the bill through a Cash and Deposit Machine (CDM) or Quick Deposit (you’ll have to put your cash/cheque) in an envelope first
  • If you use a CDM and are paying by cheque, you’ll be able to insert the cheque into the machine to make the payment
