Pay Your Contacts Pay your friends with their mobile number

Open your mobile app, click on the ‘Pay Your Contacts’ option, enter their mobile number, the amount you want to pay them and add a personal message. The person will receive the money in their account instantly.

Some important information

Pay Your Contacts lets you send money to someone with a UK mobile number who has a NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore, Isle of Man mobile app or registered for Paym. You must have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). There is a maximum payment of £250 a day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits.

Pay Your Contacts is available for NatWest customers on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10 and Windows.

Pay someone new securely without a card reader

You can now pay someone new up to £250 using an account number and a sort code. No need to set up a new payee in Online Banking or rummage around for your card reader.

Please note that the payment details will not be saved. You can make 4 payments up to £250 per working day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits. Available on iPhone, Android and Blackberry10.

 

Paying a person from your list of saved payees

Make payments to anyone from your list of payees whose details you have saved within Online Banking. Just select 'Payments' and scroll through the names to select the correct person, type the amount and click send. The money will leave your account instantly!

Please note that to make payments to your saved payees within the mobile app you will need to make the first payment to that person through Online Banking using your card reader. Available on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry10 and Windows.

 

Pay your bills from within the app

Our mobile app contains a list of the most popular and frequently used utility, local authority and credit card companies. You can select 'Payments' and then 'Pay someone new' within the app where you will be able to type the name of the company you wish to pay, select the correct company from the drop-down list, add a reference and choose the amount. Once confirmed payments are normally received within 2 hours. 

Please note that payment details will not be saved. Payment limits will apply, the app will notify you of the limit when you select the company. Available on iPhone, Android and Blackberry10.

Transfers Transfer between your own accounts

We’ve made transferring money on the app really easy. Open it up, choose the account you want to move money from, select the Payments and Transfers option and then choose which of your accounts you want to transfer the money to. Type the amount and let us take care of the rest.

Payments & Transfers are available on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10 and Windows. This feature is also available on our iPad app.

MyReward Keep an eye on your MyReward balance

Cashback Plus is a loyalty programme for personal current account and Credit Card customers. We will automatically link all of our NatWest eligible card(s) to your Cashback Plus account. All you need to do is set up an online account, to be able to view and redeem your rewards. The programme is designed for you to collect Rewards.

Who is eligible?

Cashback Plus is open to all customers who are 18 and over who are resident in mainland UK who:

  • Hold an eligible personal current account; or
  • Hold a Cashback Plus Credit Card (subject to credit assessment)

Cashback Plus is not available with personal current accounts which are Basic Account, Cash Account or Step Accounts and current account mortgage products.

To view your Rewards balance, check their offers and redeem Rewards set up an online account. You can visit the Cashback Plus website for more information.

You can view your Cashback Plus balance on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10 and Windows.

Near Me Find your nearest branch or cash machine

Need cash quick? Find the nearest NatWest branch or cash machine by searching your current location, or entering an address.

Our Near Me service is available on Android, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry 10 and Windows. BlackBerry users will need BlackBerry Maps and BlackBerry Services to use this feature.

> It’s worth noting that these services use mobile data, so best check with your network provider as you may be charged.

Regular payments Manage your regular payments

Open up the mobile banking app to check your standing orders and Direct Debits.You can view the status of your regular payments, check the details and keep an eye on the next payment date.

  • To cancel your standing order from within the mobile banking app you must give two working days notice.
  • To cancel a Direct Debit from within the mobile app you have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due to be taken from your account. At or after 8.20pm (UK time), the payment due on that day will have been taken and we will not have been able to retrieve it.

Balances Check your balance at any time

Open up the Mobile Banking app to check your current or savings account balance and transfer money between accounts. You can even search your transactions back seven years.

If you use an Android, iPhone, BlackBerry 10 or Windows phone, you can view transactions from up to seven years ago on some accounts. This feature is also available on our iPad app.

Get Cash Get cash without your debit card

We love Get Cash, our award-winning feature that lets you withdraw money without using your bank card. We think you will, too. It’s perfect for those times when you need small amounts of cash but don’t have your wallet or purse to hand. Get Cash is another way our mobile app makes your everyday banking easier.

How does it work?

With Get Cash you can quickly choose an amount of cash that you would like to withdraw from within the app. We will then provide you with a secure cash code that will be valid for 3 hours and can be used at any NatWest, RBS or Tesco cash machine to withdraw your cash. You can use this cash code yourself or text it to someone else. You can use this service up to twice a day, but can only have one cash code at any one time. If the code expires, the funds will re-credit your account within 24 hours.

To use this service:

  • Get Cash allows a maximum withdrawal limit of £130 every 24 hours and this must be within the daily withdrawal limit for your debit card.
  • There is a maximum limit of 2 Get Cash withdrawals per day.
  • You must have at least £10 available funds to withdraw from your account (including any overdraft facility).
  • We must have your correct mobile number in our records.
  • You must have have an active debit card for your account.

Get Cash is available on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10 and Windows.

Paym Receive money through the Paym service

Now it’s easy for friends to send you money – even if they’re a customer with a different bank.

All you need is Paym. It’s a service that’s available to customers of most of the UK’s leading banks and building societies.

How does it work?

To use Paym, you need to register using the latest version of the Mobile Banking app. Open the app and select Paym from the menu. You’ll find all the registration details there.

Paym is available on most personal accounts and the list of eligible accounts will show during the registration process. When registering you need to select the account in which you wish to receive payments.

After you’ve registered, your friends just need to use their bank’s own mobile app to send you money using Paym. They don’t need to know your account number or sort code. All they need is your name and mobile phone number and they’ll be able to send money to your account.

Paym is available on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10 and Windows.

Touch ID Log in using your fingerprint

A quick and convenient way to login to your app using the fingerprint you registered under Touch ID. This option is available to iPhone 5S, 6 and 6 Plus users with an iOS8 or higher operating system. Simply login once you’ve updated the app and go to the ‘More Menu’ to enable this option.

How to register

Step 1 - Make sure that you have Touch ID enabled on your iPhone. 

Step 2 - Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Natwest iPhone app from the app store.

Step 3 - When you log in to the app you will see this screen and you can choose to enable Touch ID (to turn it off at any point, go to the app's 'More' menu).

Step 4 - Once you launch the app after enabling Touch ID, you will be able to log in using either Touch ID or your app passcode.

Pay someone securely without a card reader up to £250

Step 2 - Select which savings account you would like to apply for.

Step 3 - Read more about the account you have selected.

Step 4 - Follow the steps to complete the application.

A quick and convenient way to apply for a new overdraft limit. By selecting the 'More' option from within your mobile app you are able to apply for a new overdraft or an amendment to your existing limit. See the screens below on how to begin your application.

Step 1 - Select the 'More' option from within your mobile app, then choose 'Our Products'.

Step 2 - Select the option to apply for an overdraft. If needed you can choose to 'Find out more'.

Step 3 - Read more information about applying for an overdraft. You can then select 'Proceed' to begin the application.

There's no charge for setting up an Arranged Overdraft, but if you do use it (depending on what type of current account you have), you may need to pay an Overdraft Usage Fee and Interest on the full amount that you borrow.
