Mobile banking made easy

Our mobile app is designed to be simple and straightforward to use so you can manage your money on the move. You can check your balance, recent transactions and pay friends or family quickly and easily.

Get cash without your debit card

Our mobile app ‘Get Cash’ function lets you withdraw money (up to £130 of your money per day) from RBS, NatWest or Tesco cash machines, so you don’t even need your debit card. It's great for those times, when you pop out during your lunch hour, but don't have cash on you.

 

Pay your mates easily

The ‘Pay Your Contacts’ option allows you to pay money to anyone using their mobile number and providing they have the NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore or Isle of Man mobile app. All you need to do is open your mobile app, click on the ‘Pay Your Contacts’ option, enter their mobile number, the amount you want to pay them and add a personal message.

 

You can send up to £250 a day which is separate from your daily withdrawal and 'Get Cash' limits, and you must also have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). How easy is that?

 

Pay Your Contacts is available for NatWest customers on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry10, Windows and Kindle app.

Apple Pay is the new, easy and secure way to pay using your NatWest debit or credit card on an Apple device. It allows you to make contactless payments in shops (contactless limits apply, unless the retailer says otherwise).

 

Our mobile app is available on most smartphones, to NatWest customers with Online Banking and a UK mobile number.

Get some flexibility with an Arranged Overdraft

For a little extra piece of mind you can arrange an overdraft with your Select bank account. You can apply for an Arranged Overdraft during the Select account application process.

An Arranged Overdraft is an overdraft that we have approved for you and you can borrow up to that limit. This means you can get access to additional money if you ever need it (subject to eligibility, over 18's only).

Opening an account or switching to NatWest

What you need when opening an account

Opening a new bank account with us is easy. Find out what documents you need when applying for an account.

If you're applying online, try and have a UK Passport or Driving licence to hand along with a working credit or debit card.

If you don't have these, don't worry. You can still apply online and we will ask you to provide other forms of ID and proof of address that we can accept.

 

When you open your account online, remember to keep note of the reference number from your application as you will need this if you want to discuss your application with us.

It's easy to switch to us

Switching bank accounts from one UK bank or building society to another is simple with our bank account Switch Service. It takes just 7 working days.

On your switch date, your payments, such as Direct Debits, Standing Orders and Bill Payments, will transfer to your new account. Any credit balance from your old account will have been transferred, your new account will be ready to use and your old account will be closed, if you wish.
