Going abroad? Your Reward Silver account includes travel insurance that covers you for up to 22 days per trip. The policy also includes winter sports cover.

What you should know:
  • Covers you and joint account holders
  • If you have a medical condition, please call 0345 601 5219 (or Minicom number 0345 600 0512) to confirm your premiums and cover. Lines are open 8am-8pm Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, Saturday, 10am-5pm Sunday and 9am to 5pm on bank holidays. We are closed on Christmas Day,Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday. Calls may be recorded.
  • If you or your joint account holders are aged 70 or over, there’s a £50 annual premium per person insured aged 70 or over
  • If you have an existing medical condition, you may have to pay an additional premium or accept that your cover may exclude certain conditions.

What you should know:

  • The policy covers unauthorised calls up to £2,500 (inc VAT) for monthly contracts and up to £100 (inc VAT) for pay as you go customers
  • Covers account holders’ phones only 
  • 2 phones are covered if you have a joint account
  • The replacement value per phone is unlimited (excluding cosmetic embellishments with precious metals, stones or crystals)

What you should know:
  • Order up to six tickets through the booking service for each event, up to four bookings a year

  • Cashback is calculated on the full price of the ticket including any booking fees
How do I get my cashback?
  • You don't need to do anything. It will be paid into your Reward Silver account within 30 days of your booking.

What you should know:
  • Some restaurants may exclude tastecard use on Friday or Saturday evenings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, the whole of December and potentially other “event” type days
  • Where restaurants offer 50% off they may limit the number of people; where restaurants offer 2 for 1 this does not include side dishes or extras
  • Some restaurants require the customer to book prior to arriving at restaurants.

As soon as your available Rewards balance is the equivalent of £5 or more, you can convert your Rewards to money, which you can either transfer into your NatWest current account or use towards reducing your Reward credit card balance. Rewards can also be exchanged for gift cards at selected retailers or converted to money and donated to participating charities.

Our mobile app lets you withdraw money (up to £130 of your money per day) from RBS, NatWest or Tesco cash machines.

Get Cash is a function on our Mobile Banking app that lets you withdraw money quickly without using your bank card. It's great for those times, when you pop out during your lunch hour, but don't have cash on you.

Pay your contacts with our mobile app

Pay Your Contacts lets you send money to someone with a UK mobile number who has a NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore, Isle of Man mobile app or registered for Paym.

If the person you’re paying is a NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank, NatWest Offshore or Isle of Man Bank Mobile app user, they’ll receive a text and the money will be in their account instantly.
 

If the person you are paying does not have the Mobile app then we can send the payment via the Paym service. This is a service that is available to customers of most of the UK's leading banks and building societies. If your friend is registered for Paym with their own bank then the money will be in their account instantly.
 

You must have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). There is a maximum payment of £250 a day, which is separate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits.

Opening an account or switching to NatWest

What you need when opening an account

Opening a new current account with us is easy. Find out what documents you need when applying for an account.

If you're applying online, try and have a UK Passport or Driving licence to hand along with a working credit or debit card.

If you don't have these, don't worry. You can still apply online and we will ask you to provide other forms of ID and proof of address that we can accept.

It's easy to switch to us

Switching bank accounts from one UK bank or building society to another is simple with the Current Account Switch Service. It takes just 7 working days.

On your switch date, your payments, such as Direct Debits, Standing Orders and Bill Payments, will transfer to your new account. Any credit balance from your old account will have been transferred, your new account will be ready to use and your old account will be closed, if you wish.

Reward credit card

If you have a Reward current account, we'll refund the annual fee. Plus, you can earn 1% Rewards on your purchases in supermarkets (0.5% at their petrol stations) as well as at least 0.5% everywhere else.

Representative 23.7% APR (variable)

Annual fee applies and is then refunded if you have a Reward current account.

Always aim to pay off your credit card balance every month to make sure the benefit of Rewards outweighs any interest costs.

Overdrafts with the Reward Silver Account

Remember to arrange an overdraft facility if you need it

Access to additional money (subject to eligibility)

You can apply for an Arranged Overdraft during the account application process or you can review your requirements after your account has opened and apply separately (subject to approval). Usage fees apply.

The NatWest Reward Silver account comes with a £10 interest free threshold. You will only pay interest and a usage fee if you spend more than your interest free threshold and only on the amount you are overdrawn by.

Fees and charges

If you spend more than your interest free threshold and you have an arranged overdraft facility, you will be charged a £6 Arranged Overdraft usage fee and interest on that amount.

If you spend more than the interest free threshold and you haven't been approved for an arranged overdraft, or if you spend more than your arranged limit, you will be charged unarranged overdraft usage fees of £6 a day, up to 15 days in every charging period.
