Here are some of the things that we do to help keep you safe and secure when banking with us.

Constant monitoring

We use the latest technology and profiling systems to help us identify any suspicious activity on your account. Our colleagues are trained to spot suspicious payments and we will contact you immediately if we do.

One Time Passcode (OTP)

We use OTP's to help keep you safe from fraud. An OTP is a unique 6-digit code that may be sent to your mobile number. 

  • Never share your OTP with anyone.
  • It is important that you keep your mobile phone number up to date.

We check the name, sort code, account number and type of account you intend to pay, to give you greater confidence you're paying the right person.

If you think you’ve been the victim of a scam or fraud, we can help you. 

  • To try to avoid being victim to fraud or scams, it’s important to help keep yourself safe too. Our fraud and scam guides provide information about common scams and how to best avoid them. 
  • Remember to take sensible precautions and keep your anti-virus software up to date.

Layered security system

Card readers

The card reader is a security device that works with your Online Banking service to provide an extra layer of protection against online fraud. 

Biometric approval

You can add an extra layer of advanced security in our app – set up face biometrics.  It is a simpler way of managing your money and is a handy alternative to your card reader.

Secure website

When you log in to our Online Banking service on a lot of browsers, you’ll notice that the address bar (which starts ‘https://’) turns green. This shows that the website has an extra level of security.
